City of North Las Vegas 2025-2030 Strategic Plan
North Las Vegas is home to more than 285,000 residents and is one of the fastest growing cities in Nevada. It is also one of the country's largest minority-majority communities. As a premier place to live, work, play and do business, the City of North Las Vegas leads Nevada in both new home construction and commercial economic development.
GRANTS
Amplifying Impact
In 2019, the City of North Las Vegas created an innovative Grants Department with two primary goals in mind: one, to capitalize on an anticipated increase in federal spending, and two, to provide local small businesses and nonprofits with hands-on guidance and expertise to help them procure federal grants outside of the City's scope. We developed a program that has since been replicated numerous times providing nonprofit organizations with grant writers, trainers and program evaluators to help them be as competitive as possible in procuring federal grant dollars to provide impactful programming for residents.
Grant funding in the City rose 505 percent one year after the creation of the Grants Department. With COVID-related funding added, the City saw a 740 percent increase in grant dollars in just two years.
